Regular Season Round 19: Ourense - Forca Lleida 68-70

The game had a very big importance for eighth-ranked Lleida Basquet as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Lleida Basquet edged 3rd placed Ourense on the road 70-68. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Ourense. Ourense was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. They outrebounded Ourense 33-22 including 21 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for center Francisco Guerra (214-92) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points and 7 rebounds. Nigerian-American forward Michael Fakuade (201-89, college: Ill.-Springfield) helped adding 12 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side Lithuanian center Deividas Busma (212-87, college: Idaho St., agency: Two Points) responded with 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard Marcos Suka-Umu (192-85, agency: Interperformances) scored 16 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Lleida Basquet have a solid series of four victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Ourense at the other side still keeps top place with six games lost. They share the position with Breogan. Ourense will play next round against Blancos de Rueda trying to get back on the winning streak. Lleida Basquet will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Palma in S'Arenal.
