Regular Season Round 13: Hamar - Thor AK 95-85

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Hamar (8-5) beat at home bottom-ranked Thor AK (1-10) 95-85 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Hamar. Thor AK managed to win third quarter 30-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hamar forced 29 Thor AK turnovers and had a 20-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Julian Nelson (190, college: Coker) nailed 23 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) for the winning side and forward Orn Sigurdarson (202-89) accounted for 20 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Hamar players scored in double figures. Hamar's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Frisco Sandidge (198-87, college: Delaware St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Einar Eyjolfsson (178-94) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Thor AK in the defeat. Hamar maintains third place with 8-5 record having seven points less than leader Hottur. Loser Thor AK stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Hamar will meet KFI (#7) in the next round. Thor AK will play against the league's second-placed FSU and hope to win that game.
