Regular Season Round 34: Foshan LL - Shanghai S. 116-110

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked Foshan and 11th ranked Shanghai Sharks had identical 15-18 record. This time Foshan used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Shanghai 116-110 on Friday night. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 55-46 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Foshan made 29-of-34 free shots (85.3 percent) during the game. Shanghai Sharks were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Lebanese swingman Fadi Khatib (199-79) fired 41 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds for the winners (made all of his fourteen free throws !!!). Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) chipped in 30 points. American forward Michael Beasley (208-89, college: Kansas St.) produced a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 9 assists and the former international center ZhaoXu Zhang (221-87, college: California) added 21 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shanghai Sharks' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Foshan (16-18) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Shandong FB. Loser Shanghai Sharks dropped to the twelfth position with 19 games lost. Foshan will face Sichuan BW (#19) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Shanghai Sharks will play against the league's leader Guandong Tigers (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
