Regular Season Round 33: Fuerza Regia - Huracanes 78-81

Important game to mention about took place in Monterrey. Sixth ranked Huracanes (17-15) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 7th ranked Fuerza Regia (15-14) 81-78 on Friday evening. It looked good early as Fuerza Regia took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Huracanes had a 24-13 second period charge getting the lead and Fuerza Regia was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 78-81. American swingman Ollie Bailey (201-85, college: Oklahoma City) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 17 rebounds for the winners and Nigerian-American power forward Suleiman Braimoh (203-89, college: Rice) chipped in 22 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was international center Lance Allred (211-81, college: Weber St.) with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds and the former international guard Gabriel Giron (190-88) scored 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Fuerza Regia players scored in double figures. Huracanes moved-up to fifth place. Fuerza Regia at the other side keeps the seventh position with 14 games lost. Huracanes will play against Jefes (#8) in the next round. Fuerza Regia will play against Correcaminos and hopes to get back on the winning track.
