Regular Season Round 17: Slask Wroclaw - Trefl Sopot 95-81
Date: January 23, 2015
Not a big story in a game in Wroclaw where 8th ranked Trefl (9-8) was defeated by third ranked Slask (13-4) 95-81 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Slask. Trefl was better in second period 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Trefl's 42 and made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. Slask forced 20 Trefl turnovers. Serbian center Aleksandar Mladenovic (207-84, agency: BeoExcell) stepped up and scored 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners and Serbian guard Vuk Radivojevic (196-83) chipped in 15 points. Marcin Dutkiewicz (198-86) responded with 16 points and Lithuanian point guard Sarunas Vasiliauskas (187-89, agency: Alti Sport) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Five Slask and four Trefl players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Slask maintains third place with 13-4 record behind leader PGE Turow, which they share with AZS Koszalin. Loser Trefl keeps the eighth position with eight games lost. Slask will face league's second-placed Stelmet in Zielona Gora in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Trefl will play at home against AZS Koszalin (#4) and hope to win that game.
