Leader Catz Lappeenranta delivered the seventeenth win on Friday night. This time they crushed 6th ranked Pyrinto (7-10) 87-40 in Tampere. The game without a history. Catz Lappeenranta led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Pyrinto to just 4 points in first quarter. Catz Lappeenranta made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Pyrinto turnovers and outrebounded them 49-36 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was American Chandrea Jones (175-87, college: Syracuse, agency: LBM Management) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Russian forward Elena Reshetko (184-86) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Catz Lappeenranta players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Jessica Schroll (180-91, college: Cent.Michigan) who recorded 17 points and 9 rebounds and the former international point guard Meral Bedretdin (174-93) added 4 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Pyrinto's coach Ilpo Rantanen gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Catz Lappeenranta (17-1) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position. Newly promoted Pyrinto keeps the sixth place with ten games lost. Catz Lappeenranta are looking forward to face league's second-placed Peli-Karhut in Kotka in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Pyrinto will play at home against Forssan Alku (#9) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
