No shocking result in a game in Turku where third ranked Aanekosken (13-5) smashed bottom-ranked TuRi (2-16) 91-62 on Saturday. The game without a history. Aanekosken led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to TuRi's 38. Aanekosken forced 25 TuRi turnovers and outrebounded them 50-37 including 18 on the offensive glass. American power forward Chandra Harris (186-89, college: Georgia St.) had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 17 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import center Kenya Robinson (182-70, college: New Orleans) chipped in 10 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. Five Aanekosken players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Shafontaye Myers (173-92, college: Alabama) with 18 points and 7 rebounds and forward Sanni Salonen (181-95) scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Aanekosken have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with PeKa. TuRi lost fourteenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Aanekosken will meet HyPo (#5) in the next round. TuRi will play against Tapiolan Honka (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
