Everything went according to plan when third ranked Conquero (14-2) defeated 8th ranked Zamarat (6-10) in Huelva 54-43. Zamarat was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 25-12 second half run of Conquero. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Zamarat to just 5 points in third quarter and to 12 points in second half. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Adaora Elonu (185-90, college: Texas A&M, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 7 rebounds and the former international power forward Maria Pina (187-87) who added 8 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Slovenian center Sandra Pirsic (196-84) responded with 9 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Caroline Durbin (183-90, college: N.Mexico) scored 17 points. Conquero have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Perfumerias. Zamarat lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Conquero will play against Rivas Ecopolis (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zamarat will play against Campus Promete and hopes to get back on the winning track.
