Regular Season Round 31: Shiga L-Stars - Okinawa GK 54-75

There was no surprise when 4th placed Shiga L-Stars (18-9) were outplayed at home by second ranked Okinawa GK (25-4) 75-54 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-54. Okinawa GK dominated on the defensive end, holding Shiga L-Stars to just 7 points in second and third quarters. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Shiga L-Stars' 28. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. It was a great evening for Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. Power forward Anthony Kent (208-83, college: Ball St.) helped adding 8 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side center Chris Holm (212-84, college: Vermont) responded with 8 points and 10 rebounds and forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Okinawa GK have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Loser Shiga L-Stars keep the fourth place with nine games lost. Okinawa GK will have a break next round. Shiga L-Stars will play again at home against the league's leader Okinawa GK (#1) and hope to win that game.
