Date: January 24, 2015
Seventh ranked Asseco (10-7) crushed at home 9th ranked Anwil (7-10) by 35 points 100-65, which is the biggest margin this round on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Asseco. Anwil was better in third quarter 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Asseco outrebounded Anwil 39-27 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Asseco made 8 blocks. American point guard A.J. Walton (184-90, college: Baylor) stepped up and scored 22 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners and Lithuanian center Ovidijus Galdikas (217-88) chipped in 8 points, 15 rebounds and 6 blocks. Four Asseco players scored in double figures. American swingman Chase Simon (198-89, college: Detroit Mercy) responded with 23 points and naturalized German forward Konrad Wysocki (200-82, college: Princeton) scored 8 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Asseco have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place. Loser Anwil keeps the ninth position with ten games lost. Asseco will face bottom-ranked Wilki Morskie (#16) in Szczecin in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Anwil will play at home against Rosa (#5) and hope to win that game.
