We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th ranked Tapiolan Honka (6-12) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Forssan Alku (5-13) 81-76 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 28-21 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Forssan Alku dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Tapiolan Honka's 26. They outrebounded Tapiolan Honka 50-30 including a 21-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Sarah Hansen (178-91, college: FGCU) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Brittany Kennedy (170, college: FGCU) chipped in 21 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Tuuli Menna (182-96) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Saara Sandell (175-93) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Four Tapiolan Honka players scored in double figures. Forssan Alku maintains ninth position with 5-13 record. Tapiolan Honka lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with 12 games lost. They share the position with ViVe. Forssan Alku will meet higher ranked Pyrinto (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Tapiolan Honka will play against TuRi in Turku and hope to secure a win.
