Regular Season Round 15: Akropol - Visby 81-95

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked Akropol's (3-12) home loss to ninth ranked Visby Ladies (5-10) 81-95 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Visby Ladies. Akropol was better in third quarter 19-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Visby Ladies especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was Croatian guard Tea Buzov (176-90) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Guard Hanna Munthe-Gottberg (171-88) chipped in 26 points. Four Visby Ladies players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Cecilia Ferm (178-75) who recorded a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Hope Elam (185-89, college: Indiana) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Visby Ladies maintains ninth place with 5-10 record. Akropol lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with 12 games lost. Visby Ladies will face 08 Stockholm (#11) on the road in the next round. Akropol will play against IK Eos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
