Regular Season Round 12: Hoybraten - Gimle 54-77

Bottom-ranked Hoybraten (0-13) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 13th consecutive match to second ranked Gimle (11-3) 77-54 on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Gimle. Hoybraten managed to win fourth quarter 12-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gimle forced 30 Hoybraten turnovers. The best player for the winners was American point guard Bianca Simmons (168-91, college: Mass.-Lowell) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Ingrid Gjerdevik (169-92) chipped in 22 points. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Sigrid Davidsen (185-95) who recorded a double-double by scoring 10 points, 22 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 blocks and Astrid Gjersvik (172-96) added 16 points and 4 assists respectively. Four Hoybraten players scored in double figures. Hoybraten's coach Martin Raz gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Gimle have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 11-3 record having just -2 point less than leader Ullern. Newly promoted Hoybraten still closes the standings with 13 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
