Regular Season Round 15: Centrum - Gimle BBK 94-70

The game between second ranked Gimle BBK (9-5) and eighth ranked Centrum (3-10) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Gimle BBK was crushed by Centrum in Oslo 94-70. The hosts trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 94-70. Centrum outrebounded Gimle BBK 55-36 including a 36-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Gimle BBK's players. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Frank Nyborg (197-83) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists. Point guard Magnus Midtvedt (182-90) chipped in 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Centrum players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Magne Fivelstad (198-89, college: Barry) who recorded 20 points and 8 rebounds and American swingman Joshua Hart (198-90, college: Va Intermont) added 20 points and 7 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Centrum maintains eighth place with 3-10 record. Gimle BBK lost fourth consecutive game. Defending champion dropped to the third position with five games lost. Centrum are looking forward to face higher ranked Nidaros Jets (#7) in Tromdheim in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gimle BBK will play at home against Baerum Basket (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
