Regular Season Round 29: Nova Ves - Nitra 85-72

Rather expected game when 10th ranked Nitra (3-25) lost on the road to eighth ranked Nova Ves (11-18) 85-72 on Saturday. American forward Stan Brown (204-90, college: Lamar) nailed 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds for the winning side and Montenegrin point guard Goran Bulatovic (186-88) accounted for 7 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists. Brown is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Justin Ward (203-91, college: Lakeland) came up with 28 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Jakub Novysedlak (189-93) added 13 points and 5 assists respectively for Nitra in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Nova Ves moved-up to seventh place, which they share with B.Bystrica. Nitra lost their fifth game in a row. They stay dead last with 25 lost games. Nova Ves will meet higher ranked Karlovka (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nitra will play against the league's second-placed Rieker KN (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
