Regular Season Round 18: Avignon-Sorgues - Quimper 83-74

Date: January 24, 2015
Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked Quimper UJAP (5-12) was defeated on the road by twelfth ranked Sorgues BC (6-10) 83-74. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 25-21. But Quimper UJAP won second period 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for Lithuanian forward Zygimantas Jonusas (200-82) who led his team to a victory with 24 points. American-Spanish forward Arnette Hallman (200-88) contributed with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Sorgues BC players scored in double figures. American center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and Canadian guard Matthew Wright (193-91, college: St.Bonaventure) added 18 points in the effort for Quimper UJAP. Sorgues BC maintains twelfth position with 6-10 record, which they share with Mulhouse. Quimper UJAP at the other side keeps the fifteenth place with 12 games lost. Sorgues BC's next round opponent will be Mulhouse Basket (#13) on the road. Quimper UJAP will play against the league's leader Saint Chamond where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
