Regular Season Round 24: Chiba Jets - Tochigi Brex 70-76

Date: January 24, 2015
The game in Chiba was also quite interesting. Second ranked Tochigi Brex (18-8) played at the court of 5th ranked Chiba Jets (14-12). Tochigi Brex managed to secure a 6-point victory 76-70 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-15. But Chiba Jets won second period 15-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tochigi Brex made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks and the former international guard Yuta Tabuse (173-80, college: BYU-Hawaii) who added 10 points and 5 assists during the contest. Five Tochigi Brex players scored in double figures. Tochigi Brex's coach Thomas Wisman used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was American power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota) with 19 points and 8 rebounds and the former international guard Fumio Nishimura (177-86) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Tochigi Brex maintains second position with 18-8 record having just -2 point less than leader Wakayama T. Loser Chiba Jets keep the fifth place with 12 games lost. Tochigi Brex will have a break next round. Chiba Jets will play again at home against the league's second-placed Tochigi Brex (#2) and hope to win that game.
