Rather expected game in Les Milles where 7th ranked SIG (7-8) was defeated by fifth ranked Pays d'Aix (8-6) 64-58 on Saturday. SIG trailed by 16 points at halftime and as many as 19 after three quarters before a 20-7 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 58-64 at the end of the game. Pays d'Aix outrebounded SIG 43-25 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American power forward Shante Evans (184-91, college: Hofstra) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Berengere Dinga-Mbomi (172-95) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Louise Dambach (175-96) who recorded 16 points and 4 steals and forward Darline NSoki (182-89) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Pays d'Aix maintains fifth place with 8-6 record. Loser SIG keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Reims and Avenir. Pays d'Aix will meet Avenir (#7) in the next round.
