Regular Season Round 9: Moutahed - UBA 82-81

The most exciting game of round 9 in the Division A took place in Tripoli. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed UBA (5-4) to seventh ranked Al Moutahed (4-6) 82-81 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of UBA. UBA was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 21-16 charge of Al Moutahed, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Charles Tabet (205-87, college: S.Alabama) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. American-Guinea-Bissau point guard Perry Petty (185-88, college: UTPA) chipped in 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Petty is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Jasmon Youngblood (195-84, college: Kent St.) who recorded 30 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international guard Mohammed Ibrahim (196-83) added 13 points and 8 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Al Moutahed maintains seventh place with 4-6 record. UBA at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. Al Moutahed are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Hoops Club (#8) in Beirut in the next round. UBA will play at home against the league's second-placed Sagesse (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
