Regular Season Round 18: CFBB - Lourdes 70-103

Bottom-ranked CFBB (0-16) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 16th consecutive match to fourth ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (11-5) 103-70 on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Lourdes-Tarbes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to CFBB's 44 and made 22-of-24 free shots (91.7 percent) during the game. Lourdes-Tarbes forced 27 CFBB turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Dutch center Brian Freeman (206-86, college: Long Beach St., agency: R.H.Consultancy) who scored 15 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Lithuanian-American guard Andrius Ragauskas (188-79, college: CS Los Angeles) chipped in 20 points. Five Lourdes-Tarbes players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Jonathan Jeanne (211-97) who recorded 20 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and Stephane Gombauld (202-97) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively. CFBB's coach Jean-Aime Toupane gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Lourdes-Tarbes moved-up to second place, which they share with Blois and Vichy. Loser CFBB still closes the standings. Lourdes-Tarbes will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. CFBB will play against ADA Blois (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
