Twelfth-ranked Twarde Pierniki (5-12) gave a tough game to fifth ranked Rosa (11-6) in Radom on Saturday. Rosa managed to secure only three-point victory 76-73. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 76-73. Rosa made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was the former international Robert Witka (205-81) who scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Damian Jeszke (202-95) chipped in 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). American point guard William Franklin (184-85, college: Bradley, agency: 011 Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists and Canadian center Sean Denison (211-85, college: Santa Clara) added 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Twarde Pierniki's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Rosa maintains fifth place with 11-6 record. Newly promoted Twarde Pierniki keeps the twelfth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Polpharma. Rosa will meet Anwil (#9) in the next round. Twarde Pierniki will play against Polpharma and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
