We should mention about the upset which took place in Vitoria, where higher ranked Regal FC Barcelona (12-6) lost to ninth ranked Laboral Kutxa (9-9) in a road game 94-103 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Regal FC Barcelona. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Regal FC Barcelona won third quarter 27-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Laboral Kutxa made 24-of-27 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Laboral Kutxa especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. American point guard Mike James (185-90, college: Lamar) scored 17 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international swingman Fernando San Emeterio (199-84) chipped in 17 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was Czech point guard Tomas Satoransky (201-91) with 17 points (perfect from the field making all six shots) and American forward Justin Doellman (205-85, college: Xavier, agency: Beo Basket) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. Four Laboral Kutxa and five Regal FC Barcelona players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Laboral Kutxa maintains ninth position with 9-9 record. Defending champion Regal FC Barcelona keeps the fifth place with six games lost. Laboral Kutxa will meet league's leader Unicaja Malaga on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Regal FC Barcelona will play against La Bruixa d'Or (#15) and hope to secure a win.
