Leader Hitachi Sunrockers delivered the twenty third victory. This time they crushed 6th ranked Hokkaido L. (5-23) 83-63 in Saporro. The game was mostly controlled by Hitachi Sunrockers. Hokkaido L. was better in second period 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Hokkaido L. 41-30 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. American power forward Joshua Heytvelt (210-86, college: Gonzaga) nailed a double-double by scoring 23 points and 18 rebounds for the winning side and naturalized American guard Aki Chambers (190-90, college: Cal Merced) accounted for 24 points. Four Hitachi Sunrockers players scored in double figures. American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: KMG Sports Management) came up with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 10 rebounds and the former international guard Ryota Sakurai (194-83) added 6 points respectively for Hokkaido L. in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Hitachi Sunrockers. They maintain first place with 23-5 record. Hokkaido L. lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 23 games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tokyo Toyota Alvark.
