Regular Season Round 16: Girona - Mann Filter 70-49

LFB top team - Argon Uni Girona (15-1) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Mann Filter (4-12) 70-49. The game without a history. Argon Uni Girona led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Argon Uni Girona outrebounded Mann Filter 40-27 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Nigerian-American Ify Ibekwe (187-89, college: Arizona, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Brittany Chambers (173-91, college: Kansas St., agency: Josep and Nicolas) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Argon Uni Girona's coach Ramon Jordana felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Yvonne Turner (174-87, college: Nebraska, agency: Regeneracom Sports) replied with 17 points and the former international power forward Laura Herrera (190-89, agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 8 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Mann Filter. Argon Uni Girona have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-1 record. Mann Filter at the other side keeps the twelfth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Campus Promete. Argon Uni Girona are looking forward to face Gipuzkoa UPV (#11) in San Sebastian in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mann Filter will play at home against Cadi La Seu and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
