Date: January 25, 2015
Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked VL Pesaro (3-13) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Enel Brindisi (10-6) 101-93 on Sunday. VL Pesaro trailed by 13 points at halftime and as many as 16 after three quarters before a 32-24 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 93-101 at the end of the game. Enel Brindisi made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Georgian point guard Jacob Pullen (185-89, college: Kansas St.) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Marcus Denmon (191-90, college: Missouri) who added 26 points during the contest. Four Enel Brindisi players scored in double figures. Enel Brindisi's coach Pier Luigi Bucchi used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward LaQuinton Ross (203-92, college: Ohio St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds (made all of his fifteen free throws !!!) and his fellow American import point guard Chris Wright (185-89, college: Georgetown) scored 26 points. Enel Brindisi maintains fifth position with 10-6 record. VL Pesaro lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth place with 13 games lost. Enel Brindisi will meet at home bottom-ranked Juvecaserta (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. VL Pesaro will play against Cimberio Varese and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
