Fourth-ranked Hyogo S. (11-15) made lots of trouble for first ranked Aishin Sea Horses (21-2) in Kariya on Sunday. Aishin Sea Horses managed to secure only two-point victory 72-70. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 40-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international center J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. American center Isaac Butts (208-89, college: Appalachian St.) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points, 25 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import swingman William Knight (196-79, college: UCLA) added 18 points respectively for lost side. Aishin Sea Horses maintains first place with 21-2 record. Hyogo S. lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 15 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
