Very predictable result when ninth ranked Givova Napoli (8-10) beat on the road bottom-ranked CZG Veroli (2-16) 81-77 on Sunday. CZG Veroli was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 27-21 charge of Givova Napoli, which allowed them to win the game. They made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Strangely CZG Veroli outrebounded Givova Napoli 41-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. Point guard Andrea Traini (180-92) fired 25 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. The former international power forward David Brkic (210-82, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Four Givova Napoli players scored in double figures. Croatian power forward Ivica Radic (208-90, agency: XL Basketball Agency) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 19 rebounds and point guard Alessandro Grande (178-94) added 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Givova Napoli moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Sigma BRC and Agrigento. CZG Veroli lost their twelfth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Givova Napoli will face Agrigento (#8) at home in the next round. CZG Veroli will play against Lighthouse TR (#12) in Trapani and hope to win that game.
