Regular Season Round 19: Niigata R. - Hitachi Cougars 53-48

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked Hitachi Cougars' (2-16) road loss to ninth ranked Niigata R. (5-13) 48-53. Guard Kasumi Takahashi (167-87) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and the former international forward Mami Yamada (176-88) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Hitachi Cougars. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Niigata R.. They maintain ninth place with 5-13 record. Hitachi Cougars lost their ninth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 16 games lost. Niigata R.'s next round opponent will be higher ranked Toyota B SR (#7) in Aichi and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hitachi Cougars will play on the road against Mitsubishi K. in Nagoya and hope to win that game.
