Very expected game in Badalona where 8th ranked CAI Zaragoza (10-8) was defeated by third ranked FIATC Joventut (14-4) 73-67 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 73-67. The best player for the winners was American point guard Clevin Hannah (179-87, college: Wichita St., agency: Court Side) who scored 17 points and 4 assists. Bosnian-Croatian center Goran Suton (208-85, college: Michigan St.) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Italian guard Kevin Lisch (188-86, college: St.Louis) who recorded 14 points and 6 assists and American forward Marcus Landry (201-85, college: Wisconsin) added 18 points and 6 steals respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. FIATC Joventut have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Real Madrid. Loser CAI Zaragoza dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. FIATC Joventut will face Asefa Estudiantes (#13) in Madrid in the next round which should be an easy win for them. CAI Zaragoza will play at home against CB Canarias (#10) and hope to win that game.
