A1 top team - Olympiacos (13-1) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat ninth ranked Apollon Patras (6-8) 67-56. The game was mostly controlled by Olympiacos. Apollon Patras was better in fourth quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international Vassilis Spanoulis (193-82, agency: Beo Basket) notched 10 points and 7 assists to lead the effort and the former international Georgios Printezis (206-85, agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 12 points. Even 21 points by American swingman Muhammad El-Amin (196-87, college: Stony Brook, agency: KMG Sports Management) did not help to save the game for Apollon Patras. Center Gaios Skordilis (207-87) added 12 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Olympiacos have an impressive 13-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-1 record. Apollon Patras at the other side dropped to the eighth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Nea Kifisia. Olympiacos' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Athens to the arena Nea Kifisia.
