Regular Season Round 15: Maccabi R.Hen - Bnot Hertzeliya 74-59

An interesting game for Maccabi Ramat Hen (10-5) which hosted in Ramat Hen 4th placed Bnot Hertzeliya (9-6). Third ranked Maccabi Ramat Hen had an easy win 74-59. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi Ramat Hen. Bnot Hertzeliya was better in fourth quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maccabi Ramat Hen dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Bnot Hertzeliya's 28. Maccabi Ramat Hen players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. American players dominated also this game. It was a great evening for guard Rebekah Gardner (185-90, college: UCLA) who led her team to a victory scoring 20 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Kayla Thornton (185-92, college: UTEP) helped adding 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was power forward Ebony Hoffman (188-82, college: USC) with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and guard Chelsea Hopkins (173-90, college: San Diego St.) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Bnot Hertzeliya's coach Gilad Katz rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Maccabi Ramat Hen have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 10-5 record having five points less than leader Maccabi Ashdod. Bnot Hertzeliya at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Maccabi Ramat Hen will play against Elitzur Holon (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Bnot Hertzeliya will play against ASA Jerusalem (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
