Regular Season Round 28: Sundsvall - Nassjo 92-72

Date: January 27, 2015
No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Sundsvall Dragons (16-7) crushed at home 8th ranked Nassjo (7-16) 92-72 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Sundsvall Dragons. Nassjo managed to win second period 15-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by American swingman Akeem Wright (200-84, college: Kansas St.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and Icelandic point guard Jakob Sigurdarson (192-82, college: Birm.Southern) supported him with 26 points. Wright is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 14 points and 8 rebounds by American forward Dartaye Ruffin (203-91, college: Drexel, agency: Dynamics Global Management) did not help to save the game for Nassjo. Center Wictor Grenthe (203-87) added 13 points for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sundsvall Dragons have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Loser Nassjo keeps the eighth position with 16 games lost. They share it with Umea. Sundsvall Dragons will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Nassjo will play against Eco Orebro (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
