Second Stage Round 5: Rubon - Tsmoki II 82-90

Leader Tsmoki II delivered the thirteenth victory. This time they beat 5th ranked Rubon (8-8) 90-82 in Vitebsk. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 30-16. But Rubon won second period 23-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tsmoki II forced 19 Rubon turnovers. Strangely Rubon outrebounded Tsmoki II 44-27 including 19 on the offensive glass. Power forward Siarhei Kazlou (203-95) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Yauheni Beliankou (197-95) contributed with 29 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward Marsel Ovsepian (202-90) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and forward Dimitri Sivalko (199-85) added 17 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Rubon. Five Rubon players scored in double figures. Rubon's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Tsmoki II have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 13-2 record, which they share with Grodno-93. Rubon at the other side keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. Tsmoki II's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Minsk to the arena BGU Minsk.
