Regular Season Round 36: Xinjiang FT - Qingdao E. 131-110

The most important game in the last round took place in Urumqi between third ranked Qingdao Eagles (27-9) and ninth ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (24-12) on Wednesday night. Qingdao Eagles were crushed by Xinjiang Flying Tige on the road 131-110. The game was mostly controlled by Xinjiang Flying Tige. Qingdao Eagles managed to win third quarter 39-30. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Xinjiang Flying Tige forced 22 Qingdao Eagles turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Qingdao Eagles' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Xinjiang Flying Tige made 10 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Filipino power forward Andray Blatche (211-86) who helped to win the game recording 41 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 assists and American point guard Sebastian Telfair (183-85) who added 21 points and 7 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American point guard Justin Dentmon (183-85, college: Washington, agency: Comsport) with 36 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and swingman Chengyu Zhang (193-89) scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Five Xinjiang Flying Tige and four Qingdao Eagles players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Xinjiang Flying Tige moved-up to eighth place, which they share with DongGuan L. Qingdao Eagles at the other side keep the third position with nine games lost. Xinjiang Flying Tige is looking forward to face Fujian (#17) in Jinjiang in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Qingdao Eagles will play at home against the league's second-placed Liaoning Hunters (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
