Regular Season Round 36: Fujian QB - Shanxi Zh. 118-134

Everything went according to plan in Jinjiang where seventh ranked Shanxi Zhongyu (25-11) beat 17th ranked Fujian (9-27) 134-118. The game was mostly controlled by Shanxi Zhongyu. Fujian was better in third quarter 35-34. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Shanxi Zhongyu shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a good game for American guard Von Wafer (196-85, college: Florida St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists. The other American import forward Jeremy Tyler (208-91, college: Louisville) contributed with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Shanxi Zhongyu's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard John Lucas III (180-82, college: Oklahoma St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 11 assists and international Zhelin Wang (215-94) added 24 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Fujian. Four Shanxi Zhongyu and five Fujian players scored in double figures. Shanxi Zhongyu have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Jilin NE T. and Guangsha L. Fujian lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth position with 27 games lost. Shanxi Zhongyu's next round opponent will be Foshan (#10) on the road where they are favorite. Fujian will play against Xinjiang Flying Tige (#9) and hope to win that game.
