Regular Season Round 30: Karlovka - Nova Ves 83-75

Rather expected game in Bratislava where 8th ranked Nova Ves (11-19) were defeated by sixth ranked Karlovka (13-17) 83-75 on Wednesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 18-15. But Nova Ves won second period 21-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Karlovka won last quarter 24-17. They made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Lukaas Hoferica who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Forward David Abrham (190-96) chipped in 17 points. Karlovka's coach Milan Cernicky allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Montenegrin point guard Goran Bulatovic (186-88) who recorded 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Stan Brown (204-90, college: Lamar) added 14 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Karlovka moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Iskra Svit. Loser Nova Ves keep the eighth position with 19 games lost. Karlovka will meet at home league's leader Prievidza in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Nova Ves will play against the league's second-placed Rieker KN (#2) in Komarno and hope to secure a win.
