Regular Season Round 20: Keflavik - Snaefell 85-72

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Snaefell (16-2) on the court of second ranked Keflavik on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by Keflavik 85-72. It ended at the same time the 13-game winning streak of Snaefell. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. American swingman Kristen McCarthy (182-90, college: Temple) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks and the former international guard Hildur Sigurdardottir (178-81) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Keflavik (15-3) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position behind leader Snaefell. Defending champion Snaefell still keeps top place with two games lost. Keflavik are looking forward to face Valur (#5) in Reykjavik in the next round. Snaefell will play at home against Grindavik (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
