Date: January 29, 2015
Rather expected game in Reykjavik where 4th placed Keflavik (8-7) was rolled over by first ranked KR (14-1) 109-73 on Thursday. The game without a history. KR led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 20 Keflavik turnovers and outrebounded them 49-36 including 16 on the offensive glass. KR looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Keflavik's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when KR made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Brynjar Bjornsson (188-88, college: Francis Marion) who scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. American forward Michael Craion (195-89, college: ORU) chipped in 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four KR players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Davon Usher (198-92, college: Delaware) who recorded 19 points and 9 rebounds and guard Gudmundur Jonsson (191-84) added 9 points and 7 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains first place with 14-1 record. Keflavik at the other side dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. KR will face Grindavik (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Keflavik will play against Njardvik (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
