Regular Season Round 19: Valga Kalev - Audentese/N. 92-72

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Audentese/N. (2-16) was crushed on the road by seventh ranked Valga Kalev (5-9) 92-72 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Valga Kalev. Audentese/N. managed to win fourth quarter 22-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Valga Kalev forced 19 Audentese/N. turnovers and outrebounded them 44-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for Latvian center Jurijs Aleksejevs (202-85) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 7 rebounds. The former international point guard Kristo Saage (187-85) helped adding 17 points. At the losing side point guard Siim-Markus Post (182-97) responded with 25 points and 4 assists and power forward Madis Soodla (201-97) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Valga Kalev. They maintain seventh place with 5-9 record. Audentese/N. lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Valga Kalev will meet higher ranked TTU (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Audentese/N. will play against BC Rakvere and hope to secure a win.
