Regular Season Round 29: Jamtland - Umea 91-95

Rather expected game when 11th ranked KFUM Jamtland (3-20) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Umea (8-16) 95-91. It looked good early as KFUM Jamtland took an 13-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Umea had a 28-14 second period charge getting the lead and KFUM Jamtland was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 91-95. Strangely KFUM Jamtland outrebounded Umea 45-31 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. 30 personal fouls committed by KFUM Jamtland helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American point guard Omar Krayem (185-86, college: Cal.Baptist) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 11 assists and 4 steals. His fellow American import power forward Germain Jordan (198-86, college: Dillard, agency: Court Side) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Krayem is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Umea players scored in double figures. American swingman Dwayne Mitchell (196-82, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Interperformances) answered with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and American-British Oladapo Ayuba (198-86, college: UMKC) added 20 points and 15 rebounds in the effort for KFUM Jamtland. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Umea moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Nassjo. KFUM Jamtland lost sixth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 20 lost games. Umea will have a break next round. KFUM Jamtland will play at home against LF Basket (#6) and hope to win that game.
