The game in Kopavogur was also worth to mention about. Fifth ranked Valur (6-6) played at the court of 6th ranked Breidablik (4-9). Valur did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 90-72. The game was mostly controlled by Valur. Breidablik was better in second period 20-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Breidablik was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Bjarni Gunnarsson (190-95) notched 23 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Illugi Audunsson (196-92) supported him with 14 points and 15 rebounds. Four Valur players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 25 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks by American Jerry Hollis (198-87, college: Johnson C. Smith, agency: Sherman International) did not help to save the game for Breidablik. Guard Runar Ingi Erlingsson (187-89) added 13 points for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Valur moved-up to fourth place, which they share with IA. Breidablik lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with nine games lost. Valur will play against higher ranked Hamar (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Breidablik will play against IA and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
