Regular Season Round 18: Antibes - Poitiers 69-60

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Olympique Antibes (12-6) defeated at home 12th ranked Poitiers (7-11) 69-60 on Friday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Poitiers won third quarter 12-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Poitiers was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American Tim Blue (205-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds. The other American import point guard Willie Solomon (187-78, college: Clemson, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Olympique Antibes' coach Julien Espinosa used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) who recorded 10 points and 9 rebounds and Lamine Kante (201-87) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Olympique Antibes have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Roanne and Denain. Loser Poitiers keeps the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Olympique Antibes will face Charleville-Mezieres (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Poitiers will play against Lille Metropole and hope to win that game.
