Regular Season Round 8: Champville - Sagesse 138-130 2OT

There was a change at the Division A leadership position after last games. Round 8 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Sagesse (7-2). They were defeated by seventh ranked Champville (4-4) 138-130 in double-overtime on Friday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sagesse. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 38-27. But Sagesse won second period 17-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Sagesse used huge pressure winning it 27-26 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually double-overtime period 14-14. Champville dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Sagesse's 44. They outrebounded Sagesse 56-42 including 20 on the offensive glass. Champville looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Georgian power forward Nikoloz Tskitishvili (212-83, agency: Regeneracom Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 52 points (!!!) and 22 rebounds (on 22-of-29 shooting from the field) and the former international swingman Nadim Souaid (192-86) who added 26 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. American guard Terrell Stoglin (185-91, college: Maryland) responded with 74 points (!!!) and 4 assists and the former international swingman Elie Roustom (197-87) scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Five Champville and four Sagesse players scored in double figures. Champville moved-up to fourth place. Sagesse at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Al Riyadi. Sagesse will play next round against Homenetm. B trying to make it back to the top of the standings. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will face at home their local rival from Beirut - Homenetm. B. Champville will try to continue on its current victory against first ranked Al Riyadi in Beirut.
