Regular Season Round 37: Fujian QB - Xinjiang FT 131-125

We should mention about the upset which took place in Jinjiang, where higher ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (24-13) lost to seventeenth ranked Fujian (10-27) in a road game 125-131 on Friday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Xinjiang Flying Tige. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Xinjiang Flying Tige won third quarter 31-25. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fujian shot 60.2 percent from the field and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. International Zhelin Wang (215-94) fired a double-double by scoring 27 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American point guard John Lucas III (180-82, college: Oklahoma St.) chipped in 32 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. American-Filipino power forward Andray Blatche (211-86) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists and forward Makhan Korambek (196-90) added 26 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Fujian moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Jiangsu TX. Loser Xinjiang Flying Tige dropped to the eighth position with 13 games lost. Fujian will face league's second-placed Liaoning Hunters in Yingkou in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
