Regular Season Round 37: Guangsha L. - DongGuan L. 112-102

Rather expected game in Hangzhou where 8th ranked DongGuan Leopards (24-13) were defeated by sixth ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (26-11) 112-102 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 112-102. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to DongGuan Leopards' 54. They outrebounded DongGuan Leopards 50-36 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. American power forward Elijah Holman (208-89, college: Detroit Mercy) fired a double-double by scoring 28 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Taiwanese guard Zhijie Lin (192-82) chipped in 23 points. Five Zhejiang Guangsha Lions players scored in double figures. American point guard Bobby Brown (188-84, college: CS Fullerton) produced 47 points (!!!) and 5 assists and Nigerian-American power forward Ikechukwu Diogu (204-83, college: Arizona St.) added 16 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Shanxi Zh. and Jilin NE T. Loser DongGuan Leopards keep the eighth position with 13 games lost. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will face league's leader Guandong Tigers in Dongguan in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. DongGuan Leopards will play at home against Beijing Ducks (#4) and hope to win that game.
