Regular Season Round 20: JX-Eneos S. - Aishin AW 64-58

There was no surprise in Kashiwa where 9th ranked Aishin Wings (4-16) were defeated by third ranked JX-Eneos S. (15-3) 64-58. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Aishin Wings were ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 24-14 third quarter run of JX-Eneos S.. They brought some defensive toughness making 10 blocks. The winners were led by the former international forward Yuka Mamiya (185-90) who scored that evening 23 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Aya Okamoto (161-91) supported her with 18 points. Even a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds by the former international center Hiromi Suwa (183-85) did not help to save the game for Aishin Wings. Forward Yuka Maeda (173-84) added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Fujitsu RW. Aishin Wings lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 16 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
