No shocking result in a game in Lodz where eighth ranked AZS UMCS (6-10) smashed 10th ranked Widzew (3-14) 72-51. The game without a history. AZS UMCS led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Widzew to just 6 points in first quarter. AZS UMCS held Widzew to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 43.3 percent accuracy of the winners. The winners were led by American guard Angel Robinson (172-89, college: Marquette, agency: LBM Management) who scored that evening 22 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and international swingman Aldona Morawiec (182-92) supported her with 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four AZS UMCS players scored in double figures. Even 11 points and 8 rebounds by Ukrainian guard Arina Markotenko (170-89) did not help to save the game for Widzew. American guard Angela Rodriguez (173-91, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee, agency: Merit Management Group) added 13 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AZS UMCS's next round opponent will be league's leader Wisla Krakow at home and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
