Regular Season Round 26: Toshiba BT - Chiba Jets 82-87

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Toshiba Thunders (19-9) against fourth ranked Chiba Jets (16-13) on Saturday night. Host Toshiba Thunders were defeated by Chiba Jets in a tough game in Kanagawa 82-87. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Toshiba Thunders. It looked good early as Toshiba Thunders took an 13-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Chiba Jets took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 5 points. They made 17-of-17 charity shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. American forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) scored 19 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and international power forward Ryumo Ono (197-88) chipped in 20 points during the contest. Four Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) responded with 28 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and his fellow American import guard Cedric Bozeman (198-83, college: UCLA) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Chiba Jets maintains fourth position with 16-13 record. Defending champion Toshiba Thunders keep the second place with nine games lost. They share the position with Tochigi Brex. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
