Regular Season Round 19: Caceres - Marin 68-72

There was an upset when much higher ranked Caceres Basket (13-5) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Marin (10-8) 72-68 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 32-22 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Marin made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game, while Caceres Basket only scored two points from the stripe. It was a great evening for Jamaican-American guard Garfield Blair (196-87, college: Stetson) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 9 rebounds. American-Nigerian forward Ike Azotam (201-91, college: Quinnipiac) helped adding 13 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side point guard Jose Antonio Marco (179-89) responded with 8 points and 13 assists and Senegalese center Mansour Kasse (208-92) scored 8 points and 12 rebounds. Marin moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Fuenlabrada and Avila. Caceres Basket at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. Marin will face league's leader Castello in Castellon in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Caceres Basket will play on the road against Canarias in Gran Canaria and hope to win that game.
