Regular Season Round 16: Centrum - Nidaros Jets 108-102

Bottom-ranked Centrum managed to get the third consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time they won against sixth-ranked Nidaros Jets in Oslo 108-102. Nidaros Jets trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 32-26 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 102-108 at the end of the game. Centrum had a 38-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Nidaros Jets' players. The winners were led by point guard Magnus Midtvedt (182-90) who scored that evening 32 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international forward Frank Nyborg (197-83) supported him with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Centrum players scored in double figures. Centrum's coach Inge Kristiansen used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 36 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds by Australian guard Matthew Adekponya (194-90) did not help to save the game for Nidaros Jets. American guard Kahlil McDonald (190-86, college: W.Kentucky) added 37 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) for lost side. Centrum have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Froya Basket. Newly promoted Nidaros Jets keep the sixth position with 11 games lost. Centrum will meet at home higher ranked Asker Aliens (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Nidaros Jets will have a break next round.
